Dreaming of Summer

Dreaming of Summer

I love to wear maxi dresses all summer- casual, dressy, beachy- any occasion they are perfect and comfy. Here are a few I ran across and loved. I think its important to have at least one nice black maxi in your closet! I'm loving the one above- Its perfect to dress up for a summer soiree or casual for a saturday at the farmer's market!

Hello Monday- Its Birthday Week!

Birthday Week

On sunday I will be 30, so I have declared this week to be my birthday week. I've decided that I will do something special for myself everyday this week. Today I slept in late (but not too late- still managed to get to work on time :) ). I threw on all my new clothes. I bought this adorable skirt from the Banana Republic outlet this weekend. It looks similar to the one above except its a little bit of a softer yellow with a hint of plaid to it. I also purchased a blue silk blouse- also similar to the one above except it has 3/4 sleeves and its a lighter blue. But the best part of my outfit is the new string of pearls my wonderful husband gave me for my birthday. He surprised me with them on saturday. I was getting dressed for a wedding when he surprised me with a Barker's box!!! I immediately tore into the box to find a beautiful string of 20 inch 10 1/2 mm fresh water pearls- they are lovely! I have the most wonderful husband!!!

Cozy

Cozy

The weather down here has been a little schizo the past month. It's been down into the 30's then  back up to the 80's- so confusing for my wardrobe. This morning it was pretty chilly- about 36 when I woke up. It definitely put me in the mood for some cozy winter sweaters! I'm totally in love with the Knitted Rabbit Fur sweater by Joseph. If only I had $2000 to spend on a sweater! That sweater is so amazing I had to pair it with these killer leather pants. Normally, I would not wear leather pants but you can't wear just any pair of jeans with this sweater! And again, I'm featuring my favorite of the season- the cowl neck poncho from Anthropologie.
Apparently, I am really into neutrals this winter. I think neutrals are always a good staple for your wardrobe. They are easy to wear, very versatile and, usually, timeless. A whole new look can be created by changing accessories- jewelry, bags, shoes etc. I can't wait to get home this evening, throw on a big comfy, cozy sweater and sip some wine by the fire!

Loving my work outfit today

Loving my work outfit today

I was inspired by the new logo I created last night and its finally cold enough to wear my yellow wool blazer. Its a Paul and Joe for Target that I purchased several years ago but have just recently decided I'm totally in love with it. The sweater I'm wearing was an amazing find at the Banana Republic factory store- looks similar to the one above but the stripes are smaller and it has zippers on the shoulders- details that I love. Oh and the stipes are navy. I've been paring Navy and black this fall- something I never did before- and I love it. I only wish my shoes were Jimmy Choo! Instead they are from Victoria's Secret- but honestly look exactly like the ones above. My bag is Coach and looks similar to the above. I bought it at the Coach store in San Juan. I heart my earrings too- Thanks MOM!!! She purchased them in Colorado. They are real leaves dipped in gold. I had been dying for some leaf earrings for years and she finally found some amazing ones!

Love my new Kasil Jeans

Love my new Kasil Jeans

My cousin's engagement party was this weekend at my dad's house. I called last week and asked what the attire was. "Dressy Casual" is what i was told. UMMM what does dressy casual really mean???? My dad and step mom both said No Jeans. Well, I went to the Denim Library this weekend to buy myself a really nice pair of jeans. Something I like to do every couple of years. I stumbled across an amazing brand- Kasil Workshop. I'm in LOVE! They fit amazing. So i decided that I would wear my new fabulous jeans to the party- even though I kept hearing my dad say- NO JEANS. I paired the jeans with a beautiful sequin top and leather jacket. I also had on my Missoni for Target heals and some pearl and diamond earrings. My dad said- "I really like your outfit!" I said Thanks- I'm wearing jeans though- he didn't even notice!!!! It was the perfect "dressy casual" outfit!
